LTS 1st Stage: Ages 6 ½ - 10 yrs.
9.30am till 12.30pm, Saturdays term time at Sandhurst School.
A natural stepping stone from Mini Theatre School at 6 ½ yrs. Pleasure in acting, dancing or singing is often demonstrated initially in the home or at school. No formal training is required to join 1st Stage, just interest and enthusiasm in performing. Students in 1st Stage gain an understanding and the fundamental technique in each performing arts discipline as well as being given freedom of creativity to develop their own work.
What we do
Drama: Confidence and creativity building. Short Plays and Improvisations
Dance: Modern Styles, Jazz and Disco.
Singing: Songs for Pantomime
Students are given the opportunity to perform song and dance numbers along side Centre Stage in the Lafour Christmas Pantomime
Drama: Classical or Contemporary to include titles from
e.g. Shakespeare, Greek mythology, Poetry
Dance: Traditional e.g. Folk, Ballroom, Jive, Latin, Jazz
Singing: Classical or traditional same era as dance or drama piece
Showcase: Our annual Showcase competition is an opportunity for students to prepare and rehearse a performance piece of their own choice either solo, with a partner or as a small group. A winner is awarded a trophy based on effort, performance and creativity.
Musical Theatre e.g. The Sound of music, Annie, Oliver, The Wizard of Oz, Fame, Lion King, etc.
Annual Variety Show & Awards. Matinee & evening performances featuring students from Mini Theatre School, 1st Stage & Centre Stage.
